Community Foundations: Lismore
The Lismore Area Community Foundation was recently established in partnership with the Lismore Telephone Company through a partnership with the Southwest Initiative Foundation. Community leaders, along with SWIF, are currently in the process of organizing a steering committee to oversee the fund and recruit a full advisory committee.
With the final amount still to be determined, the Lismore Telephone Company has pledged a portion of proceeds from the recent sale of the company for local charitable benefit. The Lismore community decided to partner with SWIF to help guide some of this charitable activity through a community foundation fund.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Lismore Area Community Foundation is to act as a catalyst to facilitate charitable giving and to reinvest in opportunities that improve the quality of life and economy for the people of the Lismore area.
